The Adventure Bar

Thursday, October 15 at 5:00 pm

Hosted by Olivier MOUCHIQUEL
(Cultural Columnist)

With for guests :
Aurélie Gonet : in 2019 the dijon-based company challenges itself to rally Paris-Peking by bike. She brings back a double reward, the experience of travel and encounters, but also a fundraiser to support the fight against cancer. She presents us with a photographic exhibition from this expedition: see below.
Sébastien Roubinet : skipper, engineer, adventurer in love with the great north... Since 2006, Sébastien has been trying to cross the Arctic Ocean via the Pole with, each time, an original boat of his own design which is a success even before the departure. La Voie arctique, its most recent attempt, is an example of tenacity and ingenuity.
Eliott Schonfeld : since the age of 18 and a first trip to Senegal, Eliott get the adventure riveted to the body. His expedition Amazonie, sur les pas de Maufrais is already the sixth great adventure of this adventurer who can't stand still and who has made our planet his playground, his land of experience...
The Adventure Bar is an opportunity to find three very different adventure projects and to exchange with these adventurers on their present, past and future projects.

Exhibition: DIJON-PEKIN by bike

A photographic exhibition of Aurélie Gonet
on the gates of Darcy's garden.

From September 22 to October 23, 2020, Halfway between the Olympia and Darcy cinemas, Aurélie Gonet presents a large-format photographic exhibition that retraces her journey. In 2019, the Dijon native takes up a challenge: to cycle from the Darcy square in Dijon to try to reach Beijing. Eight months of travel in Europe and on the Silk Road, which will bring her to celebrate Eid in Turkey, to wake up under a hot-air balloon flight in Cappadocia, to discover Georgian generosity, to share moments with other travelers, to confront the desert... This exhibition retraces some key moments of this adventure which received the support of the City of Dijon, the Crédit Mutuel Enseignant and Decathlon Quetigny.

This trip also raised 15,000 € for the Georges-François Leclerc Cancer Center in Dijon.
