His motto being "To live, you must risk", Jean-Marc chose the natural elements as his playground. As a mountaineer, hang glider, explorer, paraglider, sailor, speleologist or base jumper, this creator of adventure explored terra incognita. In this documentary-truth, he tells his father about the highlights of his life, and comments on some of his feats.

In a Himalayan valley nestled at an altitude of 3,500 meters, at the foot of glaciers with eternal snow, 13,000 souls live in harmony, cut off from the world during the long winter months. At this season, the only way to get to this valley is still to follow the Tchadar, a frozen river. Fifteen years after her first stay and strong friendships made on the spot, Caroline Riegel decides to film this winter confinement from January to March 2020, in order to bear witness to this Zanskar of yesteryear before it fades away completely.

Alongside climbing sequences in the 8° degree, iconic openers present the history of the equipment and the evolution of the practice, from classical mountaineering to modern climbing.

Originally, it was a dream considered impossible: to fly around the Earth, without engine or rudder, simply pushed by the winds. The media saw it as the last great adventure of the century. Richard Branson and Steve Fossett tried, but failed. After two unsuccessful attempts, on 1 March 1999, Bertrand Piccard, accompanied by the Briton Brian Jones, made history by successfully completing the first round-the-world balloon flight.
